Lest anyone think my children are angels, listen to McKenna at nap time. This has been going on for two weeks now. The camera was not focusing very well so just listen.
Here is how this day went. I started the nap time ritual at about 12:30. We read a book of her choosing, then I put her in bed and sang to her for about 15 minutes. Then I told her I loved her and I needed her to stay in bed and I would see her when she wakes up. I then left the room. and left the door open a crack. She was soon out of bed and standing in the doorway. I put her back in bed three times and then I told her I was going to close the door. She was out of bed within minutes just laying by the door. I thought she had fallen asleep by the door because she had been quiet for a while so I take David in to lay him down. (They share a room. He is literally six feet away from where she was screaming!) She wasn't asleep so I put her in her bed again sang a couple songs and left. She came and laid by the door and was quiet for a while. Then she decided she was done being in her room and proceeded to scream. Oddly enough, David slept through all of this. After about 20 minutes of her screaming I took this video. When I was done I went in and rocked her and she eventually fell asleep. By this time it was 2:15. Almost two hours to get her to sleep. Everyday lately is the same battle but I hope by staying calm and loving her she will eventually get over this. She is a very stubborn little girl though so it could take a while.
