ONE YEAR FOR MCKENNA!!

It has been one year today that we have had McKenna in our lives. For a year previous to that we waited and hoped and prayed that we would be able to have her in our home. That year was a really tough one for us because we wanted so bad to share our lives with her but it was in the hands of someone else. We could have never given up though. We knew that she was supposed to be with us. We love her and are grateful to have her in our family forever!
Here is a picture from the very first time we met her. We drove to Kenai, AK to meet this little girl who might become part of our lives. It was a huge leap of faith for us to put our hearts out there like that. Not even knowing if we would be the ones picked to raise her. Needless to say we fell in love immediately and prayed hard that we would be chosen.
December 12th at 9:05am I arrived in the Boise Airport. I had flown all night with her and Eric was super excited to finally have her in our home.

Our first night as a family went well. By morning both kids were in our bed. Eric was on the other side of McKenna.

This is one of McKenna's favorite things to do. She loves to go outside and ride with daddy on the lawn mower and four wheeler.

Adoption day finally came on October 1st. Nearly two years after we first found out about her.

This is a picture from today. Mommy and Kenna on the four wheeler. We went up and played in the mountains. McKenna had a blast and got upset when we wanted to leave. She would play outside all day if we would let her!
We have been so blessed this past year and we can't wait for the many many more we have coming. I still get teary eyed anytime I talk about the kids to someone. I don't know if it is ever going to stop because I feel very strongly that they are meant to be with us. I knew them before! It's not luck, it's a blessing!
