Our new living space!

Ok...so here is the reason I have not updated the blog in a while. Eric and I have been working on our new house. It is about a 600 square foot space attatched to our shop. We have sold our manufactured home that we were living in and it gets moved off our land next month. Next year we are planning on building a house but for now this is our place.

Here is a view as you come in the front door.

Also a view from the front entry.

As you go down the hallway you see the bathroom on the right.

Next is the kids room on the right.

Yes, their beds are less than a foot apart.

Next you come to our room. Not huge but very functional.

We still have some organizing to do but most of it is done. Here are a few more random pictures and a video.

One night while we were trying to do some work in the kids room we decided to trap them both. They get into everything so we put them where they couldn't hurt themselves while we worked for a few minutes. Kenna is not so happy about the situation but David is all smiles.

One day after church I got to cuddle with my girl. This is the first time I have slept with her because she usually won't sleep anywhere but her bed. She was really tired.

For anyone who needs/wants to know...this is what happens when David eats eggs. He apparently is allergic.

One time when McKenna was in time out she started singing. (Actually it happens a lot) I thought it was cute. See if you can guess what she is singing. The beginning is not quite right but if you listen at the end you might figure it out.

Dad's 50th and Fourth of July Party

On the fourth of July we went to the Middleton parade in the morning. It was hot but we still went. McKenna loved getting the candy. At the last parade we went to she wouldn't get it but this time she was a pro. David had a good time except when the fire trucks went by. They were a little loud for him and he got scared. Here are some pictures.

Later that day we celebrated my dad's 50th birthday. He is known for his crazy relay races so in honor of him my brother Nate made one up. It involved two people, an helmet, a jousting stick and a four wheeler. The driver of the four wheeler had a helmet on that had an egg on top of it. The passenger had the jousting stick to pick up objects along the way. If the egg dropped then you had to go get a new one and go back to where you dropped it. At the end, the passenger had to throw a water balloon at a target and where you hit was how much time you could take off your total time. It was pretty fun. Here are some pictures of that.

After that we decided to have a water balloon launch contest. It was boys against girls and one team had to stand with their backs to the other team while they launched a water balloon at them. If someone got hit, the team had to run through the sprinkler. Here are some pictures.

Then, we took the dogs swimming. (Sadie, Bella, Tyson and Gladdie)

Finally, that night we did fireworks. It is nice to be at my parents house because they live on a hill in Middleton and you can see fireworks from Middleton and Caldwell without going anywhere. Here is us doing sparklers.

Spokane Trip

On June 26-28th, the kids and I went with Kaitlynn and my parents to Spokane to give Austin his mission call. It was a quick, fun trip. Here are some pictures.

Austin opening his call. (me in the background looking like a goof ball) He is going to the Brazil Santa Maria Mission. He leaves on November 4th and goes directly to the Brazil MTC.

All of us who went.

Playing in the pool at the hotel.

Sleeping on the way home.

Isn't she cute!! We ate at Red Robin the night we got there and she hadn't sleep the entire drive from Boise to Spokane but as soon as we left Red Robin she was out. (The balloon is not around her neck even though it kind of looks like it is)

Daddy gave David a taste of ice cream and he didn't seem to like the cold.

Teamwork and My Birthday

My birthday was on June 24 and the kids and I went into downtown Boise to play in the fountains. Emily met us there and here are a few pictures of McKenna and David enjoying the day.

One night after baths McKenna and David started pushing this basket together. They pushed it all the way from their room, down the hall and into the living room.

Awesome Mom Day!

Hello all! Sorry it is taking a while to update. Eric and I are really busy building our little apartment so that is why I haven't been updating. We should be moving in next week and so I will have lots of pictures to post late next week.

So far today I am having a really awesome mom day. We went to the library for the first time today and we got there just in time for lap/sit storytime. It was so much fun. Tons of toddlers and babies. They sing songs, do rhymes, dance and read stories. Both of the kids had a great time. McKenna is shy but I think if I keep going she will get the hang of it. David is just all smiles for everyone. Then after we checked out a couple books we went to the park. McKenna always enjoys the slide and swings. She is getting to be such a big girl. After the park we came home for lunch but David fell asleep and I couldn't wake him up. So I put him down for a nap and fed McKenna and now she is asleep too. YAY! These are the kind of days I love. I hope that I can continue to keep things positive so we can have more of these days!
